Questions
1) What is the difference between Suprême and Nutra Collagen?
Nutra Collagen is a single-owner formula of hydrolized collagen containing the 19 amino acids and peptides of the whole native molecule of collagen. There are 5,000 mg of this whole molecular by daily recommended portion. You can find it in 500ml and 150 ml format and it corresponds to a sufficient quantity of more than one month or 33 days.
Suprême Collagen is also a single-owner formula with the same ingredients that Nutra Collagen but which also contains 1,000 mg of Glucosamine Sulphate (without sodium), 500 mg of Chondroitin Sulphate and 400 mg of MSM (Methyl Sulphonyl Methane). This formula is more complete because the addition of these elements can cover a greater molecules number and matrix tissues of the cartilage and the articulation. You can find it in 500 ml and 150 ml format which corresponds to a sufficient quantity for one month and more (33 days, 500 ml) or 10 to 14 days (150 ml).
2) Why choose Nutra Collagen?
This formula contributes to the tissular, osseous and cartilage reconstruction, and other connective tissues such as ligaments, derm, tendons, vascular, capilaries and muscular coats.
3) Why choose Suprême Collagen?
This formula is rather centered on the treatment of the pain and the articular inflammation and also on the tissular reconstruction in general, but mainly the cartilage's one.
4) For which conditions collagen is indicated?
A. To keep our bones and our cartilages healthy.
Even in the absence of disease requiring the hydrolized collagen absorption, we can use it on a purely preventive basis to support and maintain the tissular matrix of all our tissues and organs. If we want to prevent the degeneration of our bones, our cartilage and our skin with the aging factor, it is recommended to eat well, exercise, have good rest and take good supplements such as antioxydants, calcium and collagen. This degeneration can lead to the appearance of diseases such as osteoporosis and osteoarthritis.
B. To contribute to the functional improvement of our cartilages, our bones, our tendons and ligaments under the conditions of rheumatisms and arthritis. In the case of conditions of rheumatisms and arthritis, and especially of osteoarthritis (disease connected to the degeneration of the cartilage), the products containing hydrolized collagen will help to relieve the pain and the inflammation and to decrease the degeneration of the cartilage and close tissues. It will even be able to help to rebuild damaged tissues.
5) Does it have counterindications?
There are no counterindications, strictly speaking, for each ingredient entering in the composition of the two products, in this state of current knowledge. There is, however, precautions to be taken under certain conditions:
A. Do not take Suprême Collagen in case of seafood allergies (Glucosamine Sulphate is an extract of the shellfish carapace).
--There is no problem with Nutra Collagen on this level.--
B. Prudence is of setting for people taking coumadin or other anticoagulant drugs, or other products being used to regularize the degree of blood coagulation, because the chondroitin Sulphate and Glucosamine contained in Suprême Collagen can increase the effects of these drugs.
-- there is, still there, no problem with Nutra Collagen on this level.--
6) What are the side effects?
Though tolerated very well in general by all the users, there can be rare side effects at the gastro-intestinal level like a feeling of overflow or gas. Still rarer, can appear abdominal nauseas and cramps. And even extremely rare, a momentary erythema on the top of the body was noted which ends up disappearing after a few days.
7) What are the possible interactions?
There is no interaction known with some drug, although the enumerated possibilities at number 5. We do not know either a food interaction. The only known interactions are those implying Glucosamine and Chondroitin in the laboratories tests on coagulation (ratio INR/PT).
8) About glucose, glycemia and diabetes concerning Glucosamine?
Although it was discussed on several occasions the possibility of increasing the blood sugar rate for diabetics because of theoretical considerations and observation of the modulation receivers with insulin in a test with mouse, a controlled placebo study, without double knowledge, carried out in the United States with diabetics (published in 2003 in Archives of Internal Medicines) showed that Glucosamine did not affect in any way the glycemia. However, it should be noted that Glucosamine influences the reading of the glucometer. Thus it is suggested taking its reading consequently or to speak about it with your doctor.
9) In how long should I note an improvement of my condition?
A. Articular pains: It depends on each person and its condition. It varies few days at a few weeks and generally, for the first month of use, we observe effects on the level of the pain and articualtions. We noted that most of the time, the more severe the condition is, the more fast and convincing the effects are.
B. inflammation: Same thing as for the pain.
C. Benefits on the skin, the hair and the nails: on this level, changes are more subtle, because they appear more slowly. we can notice a clear difference after a few months.
10) Can we take these products with other drugs?
There is no medicamentous interaction. By precaution, we suggest taking collagen and drugs at different times to avoid possible mixture in the stomach.
11) Why is it necessary to take collagen on an empty stomach with water?
We estimate that it is preferable to take collagen separately of food or drugs so that the body will only absorbs it to optimize its effect in the body. Still better, take it towards the end of the day, that is to say one hour before or after the evening meal or before sleeping with water or all other liquids (juice) to maximize absorption in the small intestine.
12) Do we have to take these products all the time or can we stop and begin again?
You can take these products with the need according to the use you want to make. If it is about a treatment of arthritic condition or rheumatism, a daily use for a period from 20 to 36 weeks is to be considered. After that, you can diminish or use it as a maintenance or stop. To keep bones and articualtions in health, you can vary dosage by decreasing it by half or by increasing it if you are sportive and if you want to reinforce your articulations and muscles.
13) How does it work?
Hydrolized collagen and the other associated molecules go to the target cells after they were absorbed and distributed by blood to various tissues and organs. It is at the cellular level that these molecules act by nourishing the cell, on the one hand with new molecular inputs, and in addition by stimulating those to produce new whole collagen molecules and proteoglycans which will be secreted in the surrounding matrix of the cell and will come to replace the old molecules that lost their functional effectiveness.
14) How do we preserve the product?
The product was made to be preserved at a room temperature, but it is important to keep it safe from the heat and the sunlight. If you cannot keep it in a cool, dry place after opening, it is recommended to keep it in the refrigerator.
15) Are there risks with the mad cow disease?
It is important to say that collagen comes from young intended animals for human consumption and that these animals are inspected and checked by veterinary surgeons. Only the animals authorized by the certificate of inspection duly signed are used for this purpose. The animals are also tested in laboratories for all infectious diseases which could harm quality. Thereafter, only the derm is used into the process of extraction. These tissues do not come into contact with tissues of the central nervous system. Finally, alkaline treatments, acids and others prevent definitively any possibility of contamination.
